Final Fantasy Origin Folio Files - The Written Tales of the Crystal

Final Fantasy— the game that saved Square and launched a thousand sequels. We saw the release of Team Ninja's Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin—a game about defeating Chaos in a new spin on the story of Final Fantasy I.

It isn't an Isekai, they say, it's just a world that also happened to invent Limp Bizkit.

We've put out a few books that take the world of Final Fantasy out for a spin. Enter various tales of the crystal even when the power is out. Even when the power of the crystal is out.

Square Enix employee Shogo Sasaki has a big dream-to produce his very own Final Fantasy game with his sister, Yuko. But after the siblings are involved in a truck accident, they awaken to realize they've left their world behind...and fallen into the world of Final Fantasy! After coming to grips with the situation, they meet some new friends, join a party, and accept their fate as adventurers. But when danger approaches, Shogo will discover that his encyclopedic knowledge of the games can only take him so far...

Now this, this is Final Fantasy Isekai. This is set in a world that resembles various parts of the Final Fantasy metaseries, but is really it's own unique thing - various spells, powers, and monsters from a number of Final Fantasy entries will show up in unexpected ways.

Light and darkness hold the world in balance-and should that equilibrium ever break, only the four warriors chosen by the Crystals can prevent inevitable ruin. This is the story of three times the balance shifted-and the three bands of friends who came together to save the world.

Much like the new video game, Final Fantasy I * II *III Memory of Heroes also contains a retelling of the story of Final Fantasy I. So it's got that in common with Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origins. This is a more straightforward retelling of the story as it exists in the games, with a lot of narrative flair added in.

You can take your time reading these - as they take place in an era before Active Time Battle was invented.

This title - along with Final Fantasy VII: The Kids Are Alright: A Turks Side Story - tell unseen sides of the universe of Final Fantasy VII. Are they still canon to the story divergences as seen in Final Fantasy VII Remake? Who knows!

What are Sephiroth's clones up to? Where's Cid? These stories tell all.

But will their elite training be enough to keep them alive when a war breaks out and the Class Zero cadets find themselves at the front and center of a bloody political battlefield?!

Get ready to read a New Tale of the Crystal — set in a near-modern world that leads up to the events of the hit 2011 video game. We also released a prequel, Final Fantasy Type-0 Side Story - The Ice Reaper, which delves deep into the backstory of commander Kurasame.
